Leadership = Team Empowerment =
High Impact and Satisfaction
If you’ve arrived at this webpage, I know it’s because you’re the owner or manager of a business or not-for-profit, or a change leader, looking for ways to help your organization run more efficiently and have a greater impact on your market or constituency. You may also be seeking means to do that more sustainably for people and environments, thereby upholding the common good.
You may be dealing with workforce problems, such as a lack of engagement, low attendance, or even resentment, conflict and high attrition.
Perhaps you're wondering how your business will survive in our rapidly changing world or how you can develop the new kinds of products and services your customers and clients or members want.
And probably, in addition to solving problems, you’d also like your experience as a leader to be less stressful, more satisfying and enjoyable, and more purposeful for you personally.
Integrity Matters Business Services, the business- and organization-serving arm of Sacred Spiral Services, offers a unique pathway to achieve these goals, I call this pathway Buildling an Integrous Organization. Integrous is a made-up word currently being used by some of us in the business consulting community. Meaning “full of integrity”, it includes the ideas of alignment, honesty and wholeness and is a value descriptor. An organization can be integrous (or demonstrate integrity) on three levels:
First and foremost, an organization reflects its leader(s), their vision, capacities, beliefs, values, attitudes and state of wellbeing. That last component – wellbeing - is based on where the leaders fall on the spectrums of fear vs. self-confidence and faith in the future, stress vs. ease, and comfort with his or her team vs. mistrust and inability to communicate. When leaders are comfortable in their own skin, in alignment with their own purpose and truth, and at ease with others whom they need to deal with regularly, then fewer conflicts will arise in the organization. There will be less of a sense of insecurity and uncertainty. Work will be satisfying, productive and fun.
When in addition (this is the second level), the entire business team is encouraged to express their values, speak and act from their truth and utilize all their gifts, a synergy is created which amplifies tremendously the potential of the organization to powerfully impact its market and the world. Workers that are motivated and appreciated can excel greatly in the amount of efficiency they demonstrate and the extra responsibility they are willing to take on. And an organization that exudes job satisfaction and fulfillment, as well as a sense of mission, competence, caring and responsibility, is very attractive to potential customers or clients and makes existing clients keep coming back for more products and services.

And finally (the third level), when the essential character and mission of the organization is fully revealed through its branding and other marketing campaigns, its potential for success will be realized to the tremendous benefit of all stakeholders. Many companies have great ideas, unique offerings or high levels of capability and skill. This matters little if it is not communicated to the public in a way that resonates with their needs and wants and captures their attention and interest. Promoting to build a solid connection between the inner world of an organization and the outer world of its potential market is a skill worth learning. And revealing the unique character of your business to the world at large is too important to turn over to someone else.
IMBS helps you create this 3-dimensional alignment, starting with an exploration of your values followed by a frank assessment of the degree to which they are reflected in your behaviors and results. We then employ a set of proprietary, simple yet powerful tools that enable you to let go of whatever is standing in the way of the full value-based expression and creation you desire. We next extend that process to the entire organization, thereby producing cultural transformation. Finally we bring about alignment between the inner world of your organization and the outer world of the needs and desires of those you serve.
A few more words about this journey...
As a rule businesses first get involved in the process that is now being referred to as cultural transformation in order to solve the problems of lack of employee engagement, refusal to assume responsibility, politicking and arguing among the staff, absenteeism and high employee turnover.
But once they begin this work, they find that the rewards are much greater than they expected. In addition to high performance and improved client service leading to profitable growth, businesses who take this path also find it leads to a more satisfying work life, lower levels of stress, increased creativity and continuous innovation, a sense of cohesion and closeness throughout the team, and a cultural environment that supports people in the deepest parts of their being, not to mention a lot more fun.
Building this kind of culture involves...
- Openly sharing – and living - your values with your entire team, giving team members themselves the opportunity to collectively recognize the organization’s core values and determine how they should be demonstrated, and building in room for change in those values as the organization and its consciousness evolves.
- Communicating openly, honestly, and frequently with your employees - both the good and bad news – and giving them a way to communicate back.
- Encouraging staff to contribute their ideas and not penalizing them for making the mistakes that come with learning.
- Investing in the development of your staff, your human capital, currently considered throughout the business world as the most valuable type there is.
- Fostering a culture of high performance through expectations and a shared vision and mission..
- Including your employees in the development of your strategic plan and making this an ongoing process.
- Routinely recognizing and celebrating accomplishments and effort, and fostering a culture where people can expect to be acknowledged.
Along the way IMBS can provide you with various types of culture assessments, workshops and other team-building tools to support cultural transformation and make all of the above a reality in your business.
